Professional Development Program Outline

The Teacher's Stream will be held on Thursday, 12 November and Friday, 13 November, 2009.

The Teacher’s Stream for 2009 will include workshops with ESRI, NGIS and various government departments.

As well as providing an excellent networking opportunity, the Forum will be a great way for teachers to get started in using Spatial Technologies (GIS, GPS, Remote Sensing, Google Earth, etc.) or to further develop their repertoire of skills.

All teachers will come away enthused about spatial fields and challenged to inspire their students through authentic geographical inquiries. A full program will be available shortly.

On the morning of Friday, 13 November the winners of the Spatial Technology in Schools (STiS) competition for 2009 will be announced. The winning Asia/ Pacific primary and secondary students will then exhibit their projects to the Forum delegates.
